Peter Oppermann, O. D.
Grayling High School graduate with honors. Bachelors of Vision Science: 1995 Ferris State University with honors. Doctorate 1998 Michigan College of Optometry with honors.
Dr. Oppermann specializes in the eye health examination of patients of all ages, including the management of complicated eye disease as well as recommendation of all forms of eye wear.
He is the father of two childen, enjoys downhill skiing, hunting, boating, fishing and various other outdoor activities.
Dr. Oppermann is an active member of the Rotary Club of Gaylord, the Michigan Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He also serves as an Administrator for Vision Source of Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

Robert Slezak, O.D.
Bachelor of Science in Education, 1975 Central Michigan University.
Graduate work in Biology 1976-1980.
Doctorate 1985 (FSU) Michigan College of Optometry - Valedictorian of his graduating class.
Dr. Slezak specializes in eye health examinations for patients of all ages, including complicated eye diseases. He also recommends all forms of eye wear.
He is married to Mary, has 2 sons, Ryan and Nathan, 1 grandchild, Carter. He is an avid fly fisherman and golfer. He taught high school for 6 years before becoming an optometrist.
Dr. Slezak is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Gaylord. His professional associations include the Michigan Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He serves as an Administrator for Vision Source of Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

Terri Miles
Terri has been employed at Bellaire Eye Center since it was purchased by the doctors in 1993. She has had considerable on the job training, as well participating in numerous educationals. Terri combines her experience as an Optician with the everyday maintenance of the our Bellaire location. In addition to assisting individuals in choosing the eye wear that best meets their visual needs, Terri also handles insurance billing, reception duties.
Terri lives in Bellaire with her husband and son. She has a passion for animals and often has multiple dogs, cats and horses. In her spare time Terri is busy with AKC shows and training horses in two different disciplines of riding. She enjoys gardening and being outdoors. |

Kami Knopp, CPOA
Kami began working for Bellaire Eye Center/Gaylord Eye Care Center in 1991. She is a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant.
Kami works in both our Bellaire and Gaylord office. She handles many duties at both offices. Kami does billing and front desk duties in Bellaire, as well as assisting with frame selections and repairs. She also instructs patients on how to insert and remove contact lenses, as well as working directly with our contact lens representatives and companies to make sure that we are up to date on the latest trends in contact lens materials and trends.
Kami has extensive training on all levels of preliminary testing, including slit lamp evaluation of contact lenses, topography, optical coherence tomography and retinal photography. She also does intra-ocular pressures, corneal measurements, visual fields and visual acuities.
She is married with 3 children. She spends her spare time as a volunteer for the Gaylord High School Hockey Team and the American Cancer Society. She enjoys reading, bowling and watching her children's sporting events.

Tina Tubbs
Tina has been working for Bellaire Eye Center/Gaylord Eye Care Center since March 2008. She brought a background that includes working in the medical field for 16 years.
She works as a front desk receptionist in both our Gaylord and Bellaire locations. She also has been trained on retinal photography. She also does repairs and adjustments on most eyewear. She is also eager to expand her job duties and take on new challenges.
Tina is married and lives in Alba. She has 7 children, two whom are still living at home. She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, traveling and shopping. |
